~ /(0 -+- RESOLUTION AND ORDER ESTABLISHING PRflCEDURE FOR CITY OFFICERS "ELECTION THE STATE OF TEXAS 1 THE COUNTY OF HAYS 1 CITY OF SAN MARCOS 1 I On this the 24th day of February, 1975, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, convened in Regular Session at the regular meeting place thereof with the following members present, to-wit: Emmie Craddock Ted Breihan William L. Cunningham Bill Dibrell Luciano H. Flores John Hansen Kenneth E. Sutton Doriss Hambrick Mayor Councilman Councilman Counc ilman Councilman Councilman Councilman City Secretary and the following absent: none, constituting a quorum, and among other proceedings had were the following: Councilman Cunningham introduced a Resolution and Order and moved its adoption. the motion was seconded by Councilman Breihan ,and the motion carrying with it the adoption of the Resolution and Order prevailed by the following vote: AYE: Breihan, Cunningham, Dibrell, Craddock, Flores, Hansen, Sutton NAY: None. The Resolution and Order are as follows: I WHEREAS, the laws of the State of Texas provide that on April 1, 1975, there shall be elected the following officials for this City: COUNCI~AN, PLACE 4 COUNCILMAN, PLACE 5 WHEREAS, the laws of the State of Texas further provide that the Election Code of the State of Texas is applicable to said election, and in order to comply with said Code, an order should be passed establishing the procedure to be followed in said election, and designating the voting places for said election, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED. BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY. OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: That all independent candidates at the election to be held on the first Tuesday in April, 1975, for the above mentioned offices file their applications to become candidates with the Mayor of this City at City Hall on or before 30 days before the date of said election; That all of said applications shall be substantially in the following form: "To the Mayor of the City of San Marcos, Texas: I I hereby request that my name be placed upon the official ballot for the election to be held on the 1st day of April, 1975, as a candidate for Place Councilman, of said City. I hereby certify that I am above the age of 18 years, a qualified elector and have resided 12 months next preceding said election in said City, and I am eligible to hold office under the Constitution of this state.
