<br />1972-16 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 30 OF THE CODE OF <br />ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />ENTITLED "WATER AND SEWER AND.SEWER 0 I SPOSAL" <br />BY DELETING SECTION 30-35 OF ARTICLE I I THEREOF; <br />SUBSTITUTING A NEW SECTION UNDER THE SAME <br />NUMBER; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />I . <br /> <br />That the present Section 30-35 of the Code of Ordinances of the <br />City of San Marcos, Texas, be deleted and an entirely new <br />section under the same number be substituted therefor, so that <br />said section shall henceforth read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 30-35 Rates <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The rates or charges for services to users of the sanitary <br />sewer system of the City shal I be as fol lows: <br /> <br />(A) Residential users, including and I imited to single <br />family and duplex residential users; $2.00 for the first 2,000 <br />gal Ions of water consumed, plus $.15 per 1,000 gallons or any <br />part thereof in excess of 2,000 gallons, not to exceed $5.60 <br />per month for sewer service. <br /> <br />(B) Commercial users; including but not I imited to office <br />buildings, fill ing stations, cleaning and pressing stores, cafes, <br />drug stores, furniture stores, apartment houses, hotels, mobile <br />home parks, dry goods stores, bakeries, and any other business <br />establ ishment not herein enumerated; $2.00 for the first 2,000 <br />gal Ions of water consumed, plus $.25 per 1,000 gal Ions or any <br />part thereof in excess of 2,000 gal Ions per month. <br /> <br />II. <br /> <br />Inasmuch as charges for util ity services must be processed <br />and issued immediately, an emergency exists, requiring that the <br />provisions of the Charter of the City of San Marcos, Texas, <br />which ordinari Iy require ordinances to be read on three (3) <br />several days and that no ordinance shal I become effective until <br />the expiration of ten (10) days following the date of its final <br />passage, be dispensed with. Thus, this Ordinance shall be <br />effective immediately upon its passage by this body and its <br />publication in a newspaper of general circulation within the <br />City of San Marcos. <br /> <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 22nd day of May, 1972. <br /> <br />~~~ <br /> <br />7)'~iano H.
