Each <br />such person shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for <br />each and every day or portion thereof during which any <br />violation of any of the provisions of this code is committed <br />or continued, and, upon conviction of any such violation such <br />person shall be punishable by a fine of not more than five <br />hundred dollars ($500.00). The imposition of the penalties <br />herein prescribed shall not preclude the City of San Marcos <br />from instituting an appropriate action or proceeding to <br />prevent an unlawful erection, construction, reconstruction, <br />alteration, repair, conversion, maintenance or use, or to <br />restrain, correct or abate a violation, or to prevent <br />the occupancy of a building or structure or portion, thereof, <br />or of the premises, or to prevent an illegal act, conduct, <br />business or use in or about any premises. <br /> <br />Sec~ 5-39. <br /> <br />Section J-l.l--Appendix J <br /> <br />Section J-l.l of Appendix J is <br />follows: <br /> <br />hereby <br /> <br />amended to <br /> <br />read <br /> <br />as <br /> <br />J-l.l--SCOPE <br /> <br />The provisions of this chapter shall regulate the design <br />of building envelopes for adequate thermal resistance and low <br />air leakage and the design and selection of mechanical, <br />electrical and illumination systems and equipment which will <br />
