Hationa1 code adopted. <br /> <br />There is hereby adopted by the city of San <br />Marcos, Texas, for the purpose of the practical <br />safeguarding of persons and property from hazards <br />arising from the use of electricity the "National <br />Electrical Code," published by the National Fire <br />Protection Association (NFPA) , ("National <br />Elect+,ical Code") or ("NEC") , which is on file in <br />the office of the City Secretary of the City of San <br />Marcos. <br /> <br />Sec. 9-1.1. <br /> <br />Adoption of current edition of the <br />national e1ectrica1 code. <br /> <br />The 1987 edition of the National Electrical <br />Code, now and as amended, is adopted and <br />incorporated in this code as fully as if set out <br />herein in its entirety; and from the date on which <br />this section takes effect, its provisions shall be <br />controlling in work described in NEC Article 90-2, <br />within the corporate limits of San Marcos, Texas, <br />subject to the laws of the State of Texas. <br /> <br />Sec. 9-1.2. <br /> <br />The nationa1 e1ectrica1 code. <br /> <br />(a) Local amendments to the National <br />Electrical Code shall be adopted by the City <br />Council and thereafter incorporated into Chapter <br />9.7 of the Code of Ordinances of San Marcos, Texas, <br />and shall be published and distributed to all <br />holders of Master Electrician's Licenses in the <br />City prior to their effective date and to new <br />licensees upon issuance of their licenses. <br /> <br />(c) In the event of conflict between the <br />provisions of the National Electrical Code and its <br />
