( an <br />answering service or machine is <br />acceptable provided the master <br />electrician arranges to return calls <br />within a 2-hour period.) <br />Any other information deemed appropriate <br />by the Electrical Board. <br />Must show proof of Contractor General <br />Liability Insurance <br /> <br />(b) Application for permits <br />issued to the following persons: <br /> <br />(1) <br />(2) <br /> <br />(3) <br /> <br />shall <br /> <br />only <br /> <br />be <br /> <br />A Master Electrician licensed under this <br />Code. <br />A person in the emploYment of the company <br />he represents, designated by a master <br />electrician to obtain electrical permits <br />under his license. <br />A property owner who shall certify that <br />the work for which application is being <br />made will be performed by the applicant, <br />with his or her own hands, in a residence <br />being occupied, or to be occupied, by the <br />applicant as his or her homestead. <br /> <br />Sec. 9-5.2. Subsequent permits for unfinished work. <br /> <br />(a) When the permitted electrician fails or <br />refuses to complete electrical work, in whole or in <br />part, on any electrical wiring or installation of <br />fixtures or equipment, the owner or person in <br />charge of the construction on behalf of the owner, <br />may, upon written request to the Electrical Board, <br />request that the original permit be cancelled, thus <br />permitting another licensed electrician to secure a <br />permit to complete the work involved. All written <br />request for subsequent permits shall set forth the <br />reasons why the current permit holder has failed or <br />refused to complete electrical work. <br /> <br />(b) Upon receipt of a letter request for <br />subsequent permit, the Electrical Board shall <br />direct the Electrical Inspector to contact the <br />permi t holder, if he or she can be found, and <br />demand the he or she show cause wi thin ten ( 10) <br />days of receipt of written notice why a subsequent <br />permit should not be issued to a subsequent <br />electrician. Failure to show cause or to respond <br />to the demand shall be cause for puni ti ve action <br />under the Penalties and Enforcement Sections of <br />this Chapter. <br /> <br />(c) After receipt of a request and the <br />response or lack thereof from the permitting <br />electrician, the Electrical Board may for good <br />cause, direct the Electrical Inspector to cancel <br />the existing permit and issue a new permit for the <br />work remaining. No fees paid by the original <br />permit holder shall be refunded nor credited toward <br />the cost of the subsequnet permit. <br /> <br />(d) Where it appears that requests for <br />subsequent permits are made to defeat contractual <br />obligations between electrician and owner or <br />person <br />
