Consider appointments to the following Boards and Commissions. <br />A. Airport Commission <br />Shaun Maycock was appointed to the Airport Commission. <br />MOTION: Upon a motion made by Councilmember Jones and a second by Councilmember <br />Couch, the City Council voted six (6) for and one (1) opposed, with Councilmember Bose voting <br />against, to reconsider the appointment to the Airport Commission, to bring the appointment back <br />to the February 17 meeting, and to include discussion on the makeup of the commission. The <br />motion carried unanimously. <br />21. Consider adoption of Ordinance 2009-6, on emergency, amending section 2.042 of the <br />City Code to change the order of business for regular City Council meetings; including <br />procedural provisions; and declaring an emergency. <br />MOTION: Upon a motion made by Councilmember Couch and a second by Councilmember <br />Bose, the City Council voted seven (7) for and none (0) opposed, to approve Ordinance 2009-6, <br />on emergency, as previously captioned. The motion carried unanimously. <br />22. Consider an ordinance amending the San Marcos City Code by amending Chapter 62, <br />Article 2, Section 62.093 to authorize assignment pay of $160 per month for Police <br />Department personnel assigned to motorcycle patrol duty and providing an effective date; <br />and consider ordinance on first of two readings. <br />MOTION: Upon a motion made by Councilmember Jones and a second by Councilmember <br />Thomaides, the City Council voted seven (7) for and none (0) opposed, to approve the ordinance <br />on the first reading. The motion carried unanimously. <br />23. Consider an ordinance _ amending the traffic register maintained under Section 82.067 <br />of the San Marcos City Code by amending the speed limits, including the addition of a <br />school zone speed limit, along certain sections 'of S.H. 123 both directions from a point <br />north of FM 621 to a point south of Monterey Oaks; providing a savings clause; providing <br />that all conflicting ordinances are repealed, and providing an effective date; and consider <br />ordinance on first of two readings. <br />MOTION: Upon a motion made by Councilmember Jones and a second by Councilmember <br />Couch, the City Council voted seven (7) for and none (0) opposed, to approve the ordinance on <br />• the first reading.
