If the apartments pass that expansion needs to become a high priority. The Hopkins ingress and egress needs to be looked at, we should try to take action so that five-lane expansion on Hopkins is done before the apartments are completed. Kara Sweidel, 1003 W. MLK, spoke on the Graffiti ordinance and has a problem with the idea of a police officer deciding if a person has a legitimate right to have a writing implement on their person. She expressed concern with profiling. She noted that it is already illegal to do graffiti, and it is a felony to do graffiti on churches, etc., but to say it is not okay to carry an implement, that may or may not be used, is wrong.
