<br />SAN MARCOS PUBLIC LIBRARY <br />LIFELONG LEARNING PROJECT COORDINATOR <br />JOB DESCRIPTION <br /> <br />30B TITLE: <br /> <br />Lifelong Learning Project Coordinator <br /> <br />PURPOSE: <br /> <br />To coordinate the tutoring program, <br />publicity program, story time program <br />and social services information program <br />of the Lifelong Learning Project. <br /> <br />RESPONSIBILITIES: <br /> <br />To recruit tutors and students for a <br />literacy, GED and ESL tutoring program. <br />To train volunteer tutors and match them <br />with students. To organize a social <br />services fair and prepare a bilingual <br />directory of social service agencies. <br />To oversee a story time program for the <br />Hispanic community of San Marcos. To <br />publicize in both English and Spanish <br />all grant-related activities. To prepare <br />performance reports and compile grant- <br />related statistics. <br /> <br />QUALIFICATIONS: <br /> <br />Must have a Bachelor's Degree and <br />excellent communication skills. Must <br />have organizational abilities and <br />initiative. Must be familiar with the San <br />Marcos community. Teaching experience and <br />ability to speak Spanish are preferred. <br /> <br />REPORTS TO: Public Services Supervisor <br />HOURS: Twenty hour per week, to be arranged. <br />SALARY: $ 8.46 per hour plus benefits <br />
