Gonzalez, City Manage <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />Surface Water Development Program <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />April 4, 1988 <br /> <br />RE: <br /> <br />I have attached a position paper on a Surface Water Development <br />Program for the City of San Marcos in conjunction with the City of <br />New Braunfels. This position paper represents a beginning point <br />of discussion with the City of New Braunfels to enter into an <br />interlocal agreement. This document has been put together after <br />several conversations I have had with Bob Sohn, New Braunfels <br />utility Manager. <br /> <br />Since New Braunfels is moving ahead with their plans to construct <br />a 6 million gallon per day surface water treatment plant, it is <br />important that San Marcos come to a decision within the next few <br />weeks, whether or not to participate with them on this project. I <br />hope you will find that the proposed arrangement creates a <br />situation wherein San Marcos will be in a flexible position in <br />which future decisions can be made without a great deal of up <br />front costs. <br /> <br />ACG:sls <br /> <br />C$M-1oo <br />
