<br /> <br /> <br />~ <br />~ <br />~- <br />~ <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />183 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE 1988-54 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING APPENDIX C, SUBDIVISIONS, OF THE <br />SAN MARCOS CODE OF ORDINANCES BY THE ADDITION OF <br />ARTICLE VI.F. PROVIDING DETAILED WATER SYSTEM <br />REGULATIONS AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> <br />SAN <br /> <br />MARCOS, <br /> <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. That Appendix C, Subdivisions, Article II Section B is <br />amended by the addition of the following definitions in proper <br />alphabetical order: <br /> <br />Article I1. <br /> <br />De fini tions. <br /> <br />. . . <br /> <br />Section B. <br /> <br />Definitions of specific terms. <br /> <br />1. "Approved" water system. A public water supply system <br />which exceeds the minimum acceptable standards of the Texas <br />Department of Health and for which the privilege of erecting <br />signs denoting the same has been given by the Texas Department <br />of Health. The water system must meet the Standards of <br />Rules and Regulations for Public Water Systems by the Texas <br />Department of Health, a copy of which is available in the City <br />Secretary's Office. <br /> <br />2. Individual well. A single subterranean source of potable <br />water and associated pumping and storage facilities located <br />within the boundaries of a single subdivision lot, and serving <br />only that lot. <br /> <br />3. Standard City. A term used in the Key Rate Schedule for <br />Grading Cities and Towns of Texas With Reference to their <br />Defenses and Physical Conditions, adopted and published by the <br />State Board of Insurance, a copy of which is available in the <br />City Secretary's Office. The term is used in that document to <br />describe the waterworks and fire department standards that a <br />city must meet to be a "protected city" and from which its <br />fire key rate is determined. <br /> <br />4. Water facilities: Any or all of the individual components <br />of a water system taken together. <br /> <br />5. Water system or central water system. The water facility <br />infrastructure for the collection, treatment, storage and <br />distribution of potable water from the source of supply <br />to one or more consumers. <br /> <br />PART 2. That Appendix C, Subdivisions, Article VI, Section F <br />is repealed and the following adopted in its place: <br /> <br />Article VI. <br /> <br />Subdivision Design Requirements. <br /> <br />Section F. <br /> <br />Water Facilities. <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />City of San Marcos System. <br /> <br />Where water is to be provided through the water system of <br />the City of San Marcos, the subdivider shall install <br />adequate water facilities (including fire hydrants) <br />subject to the specifications of the Texas Department of <br />Health's Rules and Regulations for Public Water Systems, <br />the standards in the Key Rate Schedule for the "standard <br />city" adopted by the State Board of Insurance for <br />waterworks systems, water mains and fire hydrants and the <br />standards and specifications of the City of San Marcos, <br />including Chapter 30 of the City Code. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />The location of all fire hydrants, all water supply <br />improvements, and the boundary lines of special districts, <br />private systems, and certificated areas, indicating all <br />improvements proposed to be served, shall be shown on <br />construction plans.
