Vince VandeWalle, the City's <br />Safety Officer, said it was due to the safety budget being increased <br />last year which provided establishment of on-the-job safety implemen- <br />tation and safety equipment being provided. Many city facilities have <br />been made safer and more are earmarked for the near future. The Council <br />expressed their gratitude for the improvements. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval to waive formality <br />of the bid deadline regarding the Engine Analyzer bids. Mr. Farr moved <br />to deny a waiver of the bid deadline and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration award of bid on the <br />Engine Analyzer. Mayor Craddock moved to award bid to Snap-On Tools <br />of San Antonio in the amount of $6,267.55 and Mr. Coddington seconded <br />the motion. Daniel Brown stated only $5,000.00 was available in that <br />line item to purchase the engine analyzer but that the additional funds <br />could be taken from another Revenue Sharing 15 line item to pay for the <br />additional funds needed. The Council voted unanimous approval for the <br />award of bid. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval to waive formality <br />of the bid deadline for the Brake Lathe bids. Mayor Craddock moved to award bid to Chickering Oil Supply of <br />Austin in the amount of $5,700.00 and Mr. Brown seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of additional <br />funds for the purchase of Body Armor for the Police Department. Mr. <br />Guerra moved to deny the request and Mr. Coddington seconded the mo- <br />tion, which passed unanimously. The Council directed that matters of <br />this nature not come before the Council for their approval in the <br />future. <br /> <br />Mr. Coddington moved the Council convene into Executive Session pur- <br />suant to Article 6252-17, §2(g) and §2(e), V.A.C.S., to discuss per- <br />sonnel and pending litigation (Motheral vs. City) and matters where <br />the duty of a public body's counsel to his client pursuant to the Code <br />of Professional Responsibility clearly conflicts with this Article. <br />Mr. Brown seconded the motion, which passed unanimously (9:10 p.m.). <br /> <br />Mr. Brown moved the Council convene at 11:09 p.m. and Mr. Coddington <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 11:10 p.m. on motion made by Mayor Craddock <br />and seconded by Mr. Farr ._-;;?--- <br /> <br />bd~ <br /> <br /> <br />Mayor <br />
