<br />care and skill ordinarily exercised for similar projects by architects <br />who possess special expertise in the type of work involved in this <br /> <br />project. <br /> <br />1.1 <br /> <br />Sl!RRJI."'IC DEsIGR PIIASB <br /> <br />1.1.1 <br /> <br />The ARCHITECT shall review the program furnished by the CITY <br /> <br />to ascertain the requirements of the Project and shall review the <br /> <br />understanding of such requirements with the CITY, <br /> <br />Federal Aviation <br /> <br />Administration (FAA) and the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL). <br /> <br />1.1.2 <br /> <br />The ARCHITECT shall provide a preliminary evaluation of the <br /> <br />program and the Project budget requirements, <br />other. <br /> <br />each in terms of the <br /> <br />1.1.3 <br /> <br />The <br /> <br />ARCHITECT <br /> <br />shall <br /> <br />review <br /> <br />with <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />CITY <br /> <br />alternative <br /> <br />approaches to design and construction of the Project. <br /> <br />1.1.4 <br /> <br />Based on the mutually agreed upon program and Project budget <br /> <br />requirements, <br /> <br />the ARCHITECT shall prepare, <br /> <br />for review by the CITY, <br /> <br />Schematic Design Documents consisting of drawings and other documents <br /> <br />illustrating the scale and relationship of Project components. <br /> <br />1.1.5 <br /> <br />The ARCHITECT shall establish the scope and advise CITY of <br /> <br />any field surveys and test, which in the opinion of the ARCHITECT may <br />be required for design and shall submit a request to CITY for such work <br /> <br />to be done for CITY's account. <br /> <br />1.1.6 <br /> <br />The ARCHITECT shall submit to the CITY a cost estimate based <br /> <br />on current area, volume or other unit costs. <br /> <br />1.2 <br /> <br />DESIGR DEYBLOPIIElI'.r PHASE <br /> <br />1.2.1 <br /> <br />Based on the Schematic Design Documents and any adjustments <br /> <br />authorized by the CITY in the program or Project budget, the ARCHITECT <br />shall prepare, for review and approval by the CITY, Design Development <br /> <br />Documents <br /> <br />consisting <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />describe <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />size <br /> <br />drawings and other documents to fix and <br />character of the entire Project as to <br />structural, mechanical and electrical systems, <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />architectural, <br /> <br />materials, and such other elements as may be appropriate. <br /> <br />1.2.2 <br /> <br />The ARCHITECT shall submit to the CITY another detailed cost <br /> <br />estimate. <br /> <br />1.3 <br /> <br />CORSUUC'.rIOR I COJ1'.rRACI.r DOCUJIBI1".rS PHASE <br /> <br />1.3.1. <br /> <br />Based on the Design Development Documents and any further <br /> <br />adjustments in the scope or quality of the Project(s) or in the <br /> <br />-2- <br />
