History of Business Environmental Projection Systems was incorporated in 1982. It is engaged in manufacturing, merchandising and service in the photographic equipment industry. The business began as a proprietorship in 1973. EPS currently employees ten full time and four part-time persons developing new products for both the professional portrait and commercial photographer. More recently, EPS is becoming increasingly involved in marketing hi-tech laboratory processing equipment and in producing seminars and other educational activities for both professional photographers and one hour lab operators. F. The business exists as a for profit organization but also serves as a place of employment for low to moderate income persons G. The major strengths of the company are a strong market presence as well as a strong management team. Other strengths include the strong earnings potential of the company and a readily marketable product. H. The major weakness of the company is severe space limitation for the activities currently undertaken. This space limitation results in inefficiency and prevents expansion of staff and products. II. PRODUCTS/SERVICES A. EPS's primary product is the Scene Machine special effects background projector. The Scene Machine enables the photographer to quickly create any imaginable background for a person or product from an ordinary slide. Traditionally, most photography studios still use one or two painted canvas backgrounds for all of their in studio work.
