The Scene Machine- THE MOST RESPECTED
PROFESSIONAL FRONT PROJECTION SYSTEM IN AMERICA
3EAMSPLITTER SHROUD
(Shroud not shown in photograph.) An important but
simple protection for the beamsplitter. The underside
is covered with a light absorbing material to eliminate
flare, providing maximum color saturation.
CAMERA MOU
Quick release adapter for
Hasselblad, RB and RZ-67. Remove
and replace camera without affect-
ing alignment position.
POWER SUPPL
Full voltage regulation.
Automatic power bleed.
Full, 1/2 and 1/4 power selec-
tion. 2.6 second recycle at
'ull power.
?0
p
F f3
r?
BIEAMSPLITTER
`----ZOOM LENS
Engineered and optically designed for the
Scene Machine providing a 35mm-70mm
zoom range. An extended range of
35mm-140mm is available for maximum
background image control.
RE CONTROL
THE SCENE MACHINE, a revolutionary new Front Projection
system, boasts of an elegantly simple and flexible design with
special photographer-oriented features. The photographer now
has full control of the illustrative impact of the photograph in-
cluding the quality and composition of the background without
any effect on the subject. We call it "TBC" - Total Background
Control!
Carefully engineered features such as the super zoom lens,
magnetic slide holder and built-in vignettes gives all of the
freedom a photographer would desire - Selection of camera
lenses, dramatic subject lighting, selective focus, vignetting,
double exposures, perspective and angle variation, density and
filtration balance. Human engineering places all the controls
for optimum efficiency.
The intensity of the background
is independently controlled by
changing f-stops of the projection
lens. Viewing of the background
modeling lamp is proportional to
the flash exposure, since the lens
f-stop changes the tungsten and
flash intensity equally.
LAMPHOUSE
Computer designed condenser
lenses to maximize flash output
and provide clean, even coverage
of the background area. A double
helix flash tube and long life
quartz modeling lamp are mount-
ed on a plug-in circuit board for
easy replacement or service.
The Scene Machine-
A Superior Product of American Craftsmanship
Designed by Dr. Henry J. Oles, internationally recognized
authority on Front Projection, the Scene Machine breaks tradi-
:ion. It is the most advanced system ever made, offering virtual
y every desirable feature - in a compact, but powerful unit.
The manufacturing expertise was provided by Brian Lane,
president of the Lane Corporation, Tampa, Florida. Lane, a
mechanical engineer and professional photographer, is well
known in the industry for the design and manufacturing of
specialized camera accessories including the Lane Polaroid
Back and vignetting systems. The electronic system was
designed by Photogenic Machine Co., a world leader in the elec-
tronic flash industry.
Years of research and development preceded the introduc-
tion of the Scene Machine. It became an instant success with all
of the versatility and features desired, yet offered at a reasonable
price. Units are now in use in studios around the world in-
cluding the United States, Canada, Mexico, South America,
Australia, England, Japan, China and South Africa.
ALIGNMENT
A single pivot cyli
` nder, provides a
convenient way to q
vertical uickly align the
and horizontal axis of the
camera and project
ion lenses.
