<br />electrical <br /> <br />engineering services <br /> <br />and any other <br /> <br />services <br /> <br />inc I uded in <br /> <br />Article 14 as part of Basic Services. <br /> <br />0.1 <br /> <br />ST.ABDARDS OF PERFORIIABCE <br /> <br />0.1.1 <br /> <br />In the performance of all engineering services in connection <br /> <br />with this Agreement, the Engineer shall use that degree of care and <br /> <br />skill <br /> <br />ordinarily exercised for <br /> <br />similar projects by large, <br /> <br />national <br /> <br />engineering firms. <br /> <br />1.1 <br /> <br />SCRRMA~IC DESIGN PHASE <br /> <br />1.1.1 <br /> <br />The Engineer shall review the program furnished by the Owner <br /> <br />to <br /> <br />ascertain the requirements <br /> <br />of the Project and shall review the <br /> <br />understanding of such requirements with the Owner. <br /> <br />1.1.2 <br /> <br />The Engineer shall provide a preliminary evaluation of the <br /> <br />program and the Project budget requirements, <br /> <br />each in terms <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />other. <br /> <br />1.1.3 <br /> <br />The <br /> <br />Engineer <br /> <br />shall <br /> <br />review <br /> <br />with <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />Owner <br /> <br />alternative <br /> <br />approaches to design and construction of the Project. <br /> <br />1.1.4 <br /> <br />Based on the mutually agreed upon program and Project budget <br /> <br />requirements, <br /> <br />the Engineer shall prepare, <br /> <br />for review by the Owner, <br /> <br />Schematic Design Documents consisting of drawings and other documents <br /> <br />illustrating the scale and relationship of Project components. <br /> <br />1.1.5 <br /> <br />The <br /> <br />Engineer <br /> <br />shall <br /> <br />submit <br /> <br />to <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />Owner <br /> <br />a <br /> <br />detailed <br /> <br />cost <br /> <br />estimate based on current area, volume or other unit costs. <br /> <br />1.2 <br /> <br />DESIGN DEVELQPIIElW PHASE <br /> <br />1.2.1 <br /> <br />Based on the Schematic Design Documents and any adjustments <br /> <br />authorized by the Owner in the program or Project budget, the Engineer <br /> <br />shall prepare, for review and approval by the Owner, Design Development <br /> <br />Documents <br /> <br />consisting <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />describe <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />size <br /> <br />drawings and other documents to fix and <br />character of the entire Project as to <br />structural, mechanical and electrical systems, <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />architectural, <br /> <br />materials, and such other elements as may be appropriate. <br /> <br />1.2.2 <br /> <br />The Engineer shall submit to the Owner another detailed cost <br /> <br />estimate. <br /> <br />1.3 <br /> <br />CORSDUC".rIOR I COIftRAC".r DOCIIIIEIr.rS PHASE <br /> <br />1.3.1 <br /> <br />Based on the Design Development Documents and any further <br /> <br />adjustments in the scope or quality of the Project(s) or in the <br /> <br />-2- <br />
