On roll call the following vote was recorded: <br />AYE: Coddington, Farr, Craddock, Guerra, Kissler. <br />NAY: None. <br />ABSTAIN: Brown. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock opened a public hearing to consider approval of a Zoning <br />Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE <br />WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE <br />OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED SEPTEMBER <br />29, 1980 (VOL. 54) BY ZONING 2.46 ACRES, MORE OR LESS, <br />OUT OF THE J. M. VERAMENDI LEAGUE NUMBER ONE, HAYS <br />COUNTY, TEXAS, BEING A PART OF THAT 81.43 ACRE TRACT <br />KNOWN AS "FIRST TRACT" CONVEYED BY MRS. MATTIE K. <br />RAYNOLDS TO WILLIAM A. WILLIAMS BY DEED DATED FEBRU- <br />ARY 3, 1939 AND RECORDED IN VOLUME 118, PAGE 80 OF <br />THE HAYS COUNTY DEED REOCRDS, A/K/A 2304 HUNTER ROAD, <br />FROM "A-O" (AGRICULTURAL-OPEN SPACE DISTRICT) TO "LI" <br />(LIGHT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT). <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock asked if anyone wished to speak in favor of the zoning <br />request. Ken Kraus was present, representing Robert Anderson, to answer <br />any questions of the Council. No one else wished to speak in favor <br />or in opposition to the zoning request, so Mayor Craddock closed the <br />public hearing. Mr. Farr moved for approval of the Ordinance on <br />first reading and Mr. Coddington seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for reconsideration the appeal of the issuance <br />of a specific use permit granted by the Zoning Commission to Wild Bill's <br />located at 220 N. Edward Gary, San Marcos. William Lynn Bennett, an <br />attorney representing Messrs. Beck and Noland, requested the Council <br />table consideration of this matter for the time being because the owners <br />of Wild Bill's are in litigation with the owner of the premises, L. O. <br />Backus.
