flows used to size the facilities for alternative 7 were based on the
projected population of the basin for the year 2020.

The first analysis of alternatives was completed for alternatives 1
through 5. Based on the cost determinations in Appendix A through I,
it was first determined that alternative 2b was the recommended
alternative. Because the City later decided that the assumption of 100
percent buildout for the two developments by the year 2005 was more
preferable,. alternative 6 was then derived (Appendix J). This
alternative was determined by resizing the facilities of alternative 2b to
comply with the revised flows. Therefore, alternative six is the
preferred alternative based on all evaluation factors. Henceforth, this
report refers to alternative 6 as the proposed alternative.

The total estimated cost of the proposed facilities to provide wastewater
transportation and treatment to the study area through the year 2005 is
approximately $ 12,624,329. The total estimated cost to Lowmans' Ranch
MUD is approximately $ 3,549, 95e, the total estimated cost to Cottonwood
Creek Park is approximately $ 590,476, and the total cost to San Marcos
is $ 8,483,520. As development proceeds, the proposed system should
be reevaluated to reflect actual conditions experienced.

JONES ð: NEUSE

2
