ALTERNATIVE 6

This alternative was derived for the new wastewater flows based on
100% buildout of the Lowmans' Ranch and Cottonwood Creek Park
developments. The location of the facilities in this alternative are the
same as Alternative 2B because that alternative was determined to be
the cost effective solution of those already considered.

Initially a gravity flow interceptor is proposed to be constructed
beginning at the east side of IE -35, following Cottonwood Creek, and
ending at the eastern point of the intersection of sub-basins 1 and 2.
This line will be sized to carry ':he two-hour peak wet weather flow
for the year 2005. A lift s"Lation (central lift station) is also
proposed to be constructed at this time which will pump the two-hour
peak wet weather flow for sub basins 1 and 2 for the year 1990. A
force main is proposed to be constructed from the central lift station
to the existing WWTP. It is designed to carry the two-hour peak wet
weather flow for sub-basins 1 and 2 for the year 1990 at no more

than 5 feet per second.

In the second phase a gravity flow interceptor is proposed to be
constructed from the central lift station to the far eastern edge of the
basin. This line is designed to carry the two-hour peak wet weather
flow for sub-basins 3 through 5 for the year 2005. At the end of
this line a lift station is proposed to be constructed (eastern lift
station) . This lift station is to pump the two-hour peak wet weather
flow for sub-basins 3-5 for the year 2005 back to the central lift
station. A force main is proposed to be constructed also in phase II
to carry the two-hour peak wet weather flow for sub-basins 3-5 for
the year 2005 at no more than 5 feet per second. This line is to be
placed the same as the gravity line between the central lift station
and the eastern lift station so that it may be used as a gravity flow
line in the future, if that becomes necessary.

......

JONES a NEUSE
