Mr: ?uerra ~ov~d <br />1 the Municipal Court Judge position be made a full-tlme posltlon beglnnlng <br />April 1, 1986, 2. the Associate Municipal Court Judge position be required <br />to be a resident in the San Marcos area within at least fifteen minutes' <br />driving distance of the City, 3. the City Manager prepare a budget amend- <br />ment for funding, and 4. the City Secretary to advertize for the Judges' <br />positions with February 14, 1986 as the deadline to accept applications. <br />Mayor Craddock seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. There was <br />a discussion of the full-time position salary range in the neighborhood <br />of $25,000-$30,000 and that the full-time position would exclude any oth- <br />er practice, but not the Associate position. Police Chief Galchutt stated <br />if the Municipal Court Judge position is made full-time rather than three- <br />quarter time, he could possibly move the evidence room to one of the <br />fire stations so that the Municipal Court Judge could office next to <br />the Municipal Courtroom. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of an exemption <br />for the Housing Authority of payment in lieu of taxes pursuant to an <br />Agreement between the City and Housing Authority. Taxes due for the <br />fiscal year ending September 30, 1985 are $18,931.00 with the Housing <br />Authority contributing $25,876.00 in community-wide services supported <br />by local government entities. Mayor Craddock moved for approval and <br />Mr. Parr seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval to bid a large <br />striping machine for the Street Department. Mayor Craddock moved for <br />approval and Mr. Nicola seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of a contribution <br />to the Corridor Council, and if additional funding required, consider <br />approval of use of contingency funds in the amount of $1,500.00. Mayor <br />Craddock moved for approval of the City's contribution in the amount <br />of $3,000.00, with $1,500.00 to come from Line Item 10-11-5436 and <br />$1,500.00 to come from General Fund Contingency Fund, and Mr. Nicola <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Council directed <br />a Workshop Meeting be scheduled for the Corridor Council to make a <br />presentation of what they do for San Marcos. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of funding a re- <br />quest from the heritage Association of San Marcos for repairs and an <br />addition to the Charles S. Cock House in the amount of $30,000.00 and <br />consideration for approval of source of funding. Prances Stovall re- <br />viewed the Heritage Association's request with the Council. Mr. Guerra <br />stated although this was a valid project, these requests needed to come <br />before the Council during the budget process. Mayor Craddock moved <br />for approval of funding in the amount of $30,000.00 from Contingency <br />Fund and Mr. Brown seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced a discussion regarding the City's participa- <br />tion in a Loop around San Marcos. Frank Robbins stated he, Mr. Farr <br />and Billy Moore were working with the Parkway Task Force seeking place- <br />ment on the State's listing for the State to build a loop around San <br />Marcos. Barry Goodman stated there was a need for the support of all <br />governmental entities in the area as well as private support. Mr. <br />
