In the recent past, the City has contracted with the San Marcos Hispanic Chamber of
Commerce for a portion of the City's economic development funding, and in August of 2004, the
City Council created the Minority Economic and Tourism Development Board to oversee the
Hispanic Chamber's economic and tourism promotional programs.

2. The City is in the process of developing a single agreement for economic development
services with the Greater San Marcos Economic Development Council. In light of this change in
economic development funding, a change to the name and composition of the Minority Economic
and Tourism Development Board is appropriate.

3. The City Council wishes to change the board's name from the "Minority Economic and
Tourism Development Board" to the "Minority Tourism Development Board," and to change the
composition of the board to delete the member that represents the San Marcos Industrial Foundation
or San Marcos Manufacturers Association, and to add a member representing a hospitality business.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS,
TEXAS:

SECTION 1.
