The City Planning and Zoning Commission conducted public hearings on April 13 , 2004 <br />on proposed amendments to City Code Section 114.578( c) regarding specific use permits for <br />establishments serving alcoholic beverages for on-premises consumption. <br /> <br />2. The Planning and Zoning Commission voted on April 13, 2004, tQ recommend the <br />proposed amendments for adoption by the City Council. <br /> <br />3. The City Council conducted a public hearing on the proposed changes on May 24, 2004. <br /> <br />4. The City Council finds and determines that the adoption of the following ordinance is in <br />the interest of the public health, morals, welfare and safety. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. Subdivisions (2)a, (2)k, (2)1 and (5)a of subsection (c) of Section 114.578 of <br />Chapter 114, Zoning, of the City Code are amended as follows (underlining indicates added text; <br />overstrike indicates deleted text): <br /> <br />Sec. 114.578. Conditions of specific use. <br /> <br />******* <br /> <br />(2) Standards. For the specific use permit to be initially issued or an existing permit <br />to be renewed or allowed to continue, the following standards will be met (figures in <br />parentheses at the end of each subsection are weighted values to be used in the review, <br />revocation or suspension process in subsection (c)(6) of this section): <br /> <br />a.
