<br /> -9- <br />ITEM 17: <br />Sec. 12.12. Charter review commission. <br />"'The city council shall appoint at its first regular meeting in July <br />of each even-numbered year, a charter review commission of five <br />citizens of the City of San r-Jarcos. <br />(b) Action by the city council: The city council shall receive and <br />have published in a newspaper of general circulation published in <br />San Marcos any report presented by the charter review commission, <br />shall consider any recormœndations made, and if any amendrœnts be <br />presented as a part of such report, may order such amendment or <br />amendments to be subrni t ted to the voters of the city in the <br />manner provided by Chapter 13 of Title 28 of the Revised Civil <br />Statutes of Texas, 1925, as now or hereafter arœnded." <br />Delete this section and put in its place the following: <br />"The City Council may take action to arœnd the Charter in the manner <br />provided by Chapter 13 of Title 28 of the Revised Civil Statutes of <br />Texas, 1925, as now or herafter amended, specifically, Article <br />1170." <br />ITEM 18: Amend the Ci ty Charter of the City of San Marcos, Texas, by <br /> deleting Section 12.14 of the Charter, "SUbmission of Charter <br /> to voters," which is no longer needed because said Section <br /> provides for the manner of the original adoption of the <br /> Charter by the voters. <br />Published in its entirety in the DAILY RECORD March 16, 1986. <br />
