9. Trainine

As part of this proposal, we will provide training to the City Staff to leave
them self sufficient in the program operation and software operations. We
will also provide training to all supervisors and managers in conducting
effective performance appraisals. However, since the development of
managers and supervisors for the effective u tiliza tion of the pay-for-
performance system is critical, we have bid as an option extensive training
in the following areas to all managers and supervisors:
0 Identification and development of interpersonal skills through
management team building.
0 Giving positive reinforcement and recognition.
0 Coaching and counseling to improve performance.
0 Proper methodology for disciplinary action and termination.
The training is 2 days in length, and will be conducted in groups of
approximately 20-25 in size. We anticipate two groups.
Custom designed video tapes are utilized for the training sessions. We have
professionally produced tapes made on-site, using your employees as actors
and actresses. This will leave you with training materials custom designed
for you to use on a continuing basis.
The end result of this phase is a performance-based pay system that is
administered by managers and supervisors who have been trained in
effective performance appraisal.
