The limits of the Projects are as defined in the June 24, 1985 Sessom Sewer Line Report prepared for Owner by Engineer, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein for all purposes, and shall also include the Main Interceptor from Manhole No. 4 to the main lift station. 0.1 STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE 0.1.1 All engineering services in connection with this contract shall be performed by the Engineer in accordance with the standard of care exhibited by Engineers who possess special expertise in the type of work involved in this project. 1.1 MAIN INTERCEPTOR 1.1.1 Preliminary Study A. Determination of Flow and Line Integrity: The Engineer will assist the Owner in determining flow monitoring requirements and will evaluate video-inspection and flow monitoring data supplied by the Owner and determine the necessity for such additional data to provide adequate basis of information for rendering a recommendation regarding rectification of existing deficiencies relating to flow and line integrity. B. Determination of Existing Line Profiles: Prior to commencement of this Phase, the Owner shall provide Engineer with a determination as to a preferred alternate route should it prove to be necessary to design and construct a complete new sewer line to replace the existing interceptor. Owner will provide preliminary field surveying information using the existing sewer line as a survey baseline as defined in Section 2.12. 1. If an alternate alignment is required by Owner for the proposed interceptor, Engineer will investigate this alternate alignment. However, field surveying will not be performed by Engineer for this alternate alignment except by agreement with Owner. -2-
