ÁJvl ~1At ~i- August 15, 1985 þvi~ I () Mayor Craddock Ci ty Council Re: Report of the Citizens Advisory Committee Dear Mayor and Councilmembers, The Citizens Advisory Committee has worked for almost exactly one year to make recommendations to the problems that necessitated building moratoriums in three areas of our city. These were difficult and time consuming consider- ations, because they have had and will have far reaching impacts upon the way those areas develop and the City as a whole. While some of our work has been controversial, the committee firmly believes ou~ recommendations are correct because they reflect, first your charge to us, secondly they are based with our Master Plan in mind, and finally consideration was based on very detailed background information. Because of the committee's diverse representation, due to your considered appointments, and the fact that we made considerable effort to insure community involvement, we believe our recommendations reflect the values and concensus of this community. We must express our appreciation for your efforts as we dealt with diff- icult growth-related problems. We are thankful for the cooperative spirit and assistance of the Planning and Zoning Commissions. their Chairmen, Billy Moore, Tom McNair/Bill Nicola, and staffs. I must particuliarly commend the staff that assisted our commission, the Planning Dept., Steven Jenkins, and George Boeker. The committee as a whole must express its highest praise for the excellent work of Frank Robbins. He was able to coordinate and produce inform- ation and requests in a timely fashion. His W9t'k. and his staff, was very detailed and concise, considering the information needed. In an efficient and professional manner, Frank Robbins made the tedious considerations much easier. Each of our active members appreciates the opportunity to serve, because we all have a special feeling about our community and want to be part of making it a better place. We feel the enclosed "Report" summary of our considerations is useful to the Council, and if implemented, will certainly accomplish that goal. I feel the committee has accomplished those tasks asked of it. and therefore request that the Council dissolve the Citizens Advisory Committee. With t"hat became a lengthy term of service, the members worked diligently with great effort to deal with the complex problems presented to them.
