Maintain that portion of the work which is its responsibility in accordance <br /> with present maintenance agreements, and agree to regulate traffic and pre- <br /> vent encroachment on the right of way, all in accordance with governing <br /> policies and regulations of the Department. <br />The State Department of Highways and Public Transportation will: <br />1. Proceed with project planning, including route studies, environmental <br /> reports, public meetings and heari ngs, schematics and determination of <br /> right of way requirements. <br />Upon acceptance of the provisions of this Order by the appropriate officials of the <br />City of San Marcos and Hays County, IT IS ORDERED that a FARM TO MARKET ROAD be and <br />is hereby designated extending from Interstate Htghway 35-north of San Marcos in a <br />loop configuration to the southeast and southwest rejoining Interstate Highway 35 <br />south of San Marcos, a distance of approximately 26 miles, which may utilize existing <br />porti ons of fttCarty Lane on the south, State Hi ghway 21 on the northeast, and <br />Westfield Road on the southeast. The Engineer-Director is directed to enter into any <br />necessary agreements for development of the project and to proceed in the most <br />feasible and economical manner with Project Planning to include route studies, <br />environmental reports, public meetings and hearings, schematics, and determination of <br />right of way requirements. <br />
