<br />Section 8. BILINGUAL ELECTION MATERIALS. The election materials <br />enumerated in Secs. 272.001, et seq., V.T.C.A. Election Code, shall be printed in <br />both English and Spanish for use at each polling place and for absentee voting. <br />Section 9. NOTICE OF ELECTION. Notice of said election shall be given by <br />posting substantial copies of this ordinance in both English and Spanish at the City <br />Hall and at three (3) other places in said City; and substantial copies of this <br />ordinance in both English and Spanish shall be published on the same day in each of <br />two (2) successive weeks in a newspaper of general circulation in said City, the date <br />of the first publication to be not less than fourteen (14) days prior to the date set <br />for said election. <br />Section 10. PUBLIC MEETING. It is officially found, determined, and <br />declared that the meeting at which this Ordinance has been adopted was open to the <br />public and public notice of the time, place and subject matter of the public business <br />to be considered and acted upon at said meeting, including this Ordinance was given, <br />all as required by the applicable provisions of Article 6252-17, Vernon's Texas Civil <br />Statutes, as amended. <br />Section 11. EMERGENCY DECLARATION. The public importance of this <br />measure and the fact that it is to the interest of the City and its inhabitants to <br />provide funds for the purposes herein contemplated at the earliest possible date for <br />the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety constitute an <br />emergency and an imperative public necessity, requiring that this Ordinance take <br />effect and be in full force immediately upon its passage; all ordinance and/or <br />Charter rules requiring ordinances to be read on three (3) several days are hereby <br />dispensed with for the purpose of adopting this Ordinance as an emergency <br />ordinance; and this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force and effect from and <br />after its final passage as provided by the Charter of said City. <br />PASSED AND APPROVED this 9th day of June, 1986. <br />ATTEST: <br />
