n ----. --.--- - .------
Sl.CTIOM ""'-«[81""'" "".w ..,¡'..,wr III, ".", ",.'" ...",6w,I- Srn- ,. II., II/. II .1'P/1r8~
Section I, #7.
This application takes into consideration the community input received from
both the Victory Gardens and the Dunbar residents who attended one of the two
public hearings held in May in each of the project neighborhoods.
The street improvements will increase the structural strength of the roadways,
provide a paved surface for vehicles, provide curbs, gutters and incidental
drainage channels, including some measure of erosion control. This
construction activity will facilitate movement of area outfall into Purgatory
Creek. Some right-of-way acquisition is likely, consequently, replacement
housing may be a program cost.
The City of San Marcos will initiate a neighborhood housing rehabilitation
program for low and moderate income households. Loans and/or grants will be
made available only to residents who qualify under the Section 8 income limits
and who reside in Dwlbar and Victory Gardens. (These areas are contiguous to
one another.) Part of the rehabilitation program will be to demolish
dilapidated housing units identified by the City's inspection department as
vacant and beyond repair.
.- ---.
2
