Transit Planning o Served as Principal Investigator for the Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority Plan. This plan provided for an improved bus system, increased park-and-ride and paratransit services, possible high speed water passenger transportation service and express bus improvements. In August, 1985 the voters approved the plan and created the Regional Transportation Authority. o Developed a system-wide plan for transitways in San Anton- io, Texas to provide for over 30 miles of high occupancy vehicle lanes by the year 2005. o Performed transitway demand forecasts location and sizing studies for North, Southwest freeways in Houston, Texas. and park-and-ride Katy, Eastex and o Assisted in the development of the 1985 Texas Public Trans- portation Reference Manual including research into historic development of public transportation in Texas and state- of-the-art bus transit developments in North America. o Developed demand estimation techniques to project the location and ridership estimates for special park-and-ride services in Texas. o Performed management evaluations of the Section l8 rural and small city public transportation rides in Texas, in- cluding a systematic set of recommendations to improve internal management of the systems. Environmental Assessments o Conducted an environmental impact assessment of the effects of traffic control plans during major freeway construction projects. o Performed socio-economic and environmental assessments of alternative long range transportation plans including direct and indirect employment generated, air quality and energy impacts, accident assessment and benefit/cost analyses. o Prepared detailed air quality assessments of comprehensive short range transportation improvements in Bexar County, Texas.
