<br />1. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENT A, PAGE 1 <br /> <br />ARTICLE I - DEFINITIONS <br /> <br />DEFINITIONS. Unless the context otherwise provides, the terms defined in this <br />Section 1 shall, for all purposes of this Agreement, have the meaning herein <br />specified. <br /> <br />A. COMPUTER SYSTEM - A combination of computer hardware and computer <br />software organized to accomplish a set of specific functions. <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />COMPUTER PROGRAM - A schedule or plan that specifies actions that mayor <br />may not be taken, expressed in a form suitable for execution by a computer. <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />LANGUAGE - A set of characters, conventions, and rules that is used for <br />conveying information. The three aspects of language are pragmatics, <br />semantics, and syntax. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />HIGH-LEVEL LANGUAGE - A programming language that does not reflect <br />the structure of anyone given computer or that of any given class of <br />computers. Examples are: <br /> <br />a) BASIC - Beginners All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code <br /> <br />b) COBOL - Common Business Oriented Language <br /> <br />c) FORTRAN - FORmula TRANslator <br /> <br />3) <br />4) <br /> <br />MACHINE LANGUAGE - A language that is directly used by a machine. <br /> <br />COMPILE - To translate a computer program in a high-level language into <br />machine language. <br /> <br />5) <br /> <br />ASSEMBLE - To translate a human-generated machine program into <br />expanded machine language form for execution. <br /> <br />6) <br />7) <br /> <br />SOURCE PROGRAM - Computer program before compilation or assembly. <br /> <br />OBJECT PROGRAM - Machine-level program output from compile or <br />assembly of a source program. <br /> <br />8) <br /> <br />INTERPRETIVE LANGUAGE - A language where the source code is stored <br />and compiled at execution time only. <br /> <br />9) <br /> <br />STRUCTURED PROGRAMMING - An analytical and coding technique, <br />characterized by the decomposition of a problem into its functional parts, <br />usually resulting in efficiencies in the use of human resources applied to <br />design, coding, and maintenance of computer software. <br /> <br />C. COMPUTER SOFTWARE - Computer programs, procedures, rules, and possibly <br />associated documentation concerned with the operation of a data processing <br />computer system and generally broken into two categories, operating syste.ns <br />and application systems. <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />OPERATING SYSTEM SOFTWARE - Software, normally supplied by <br />equipment manufacturers, that controls the execution of computer <br />programs and that may provide scheduling, debugging, input-{)utput control, <br />
