<br />ARTICLE 7 <br />TERMINATION <br /> <br />7.1 <br /> <br />Either party may terminate this Agreement by <br /> <br />giving formal written notice to the other party of its intent <br />to terminate this Agreement not less than twelve (12) months <br /> <br />prior to the end of a term at the end of which term it intends <br /> <br />to terminate the same, providing such notice does not terminate <br /> <br />the Agreement prior to the end of the initial five (5) year <br /> <br />term of this Agreement except as provided hereinbelow. <br /> <br />7.2 <br /> <br />Upon termination of this Agreement LCRA shall <br /> <br />return to CITY the SYSTEM, the books and records, cash, invest- <br /> <br />ments, accounts receivable, materials and supplies, and any <br /> <br />other properties of CITY at that time held by LCRA under this <br /> <br />Ag reement . <br /> <br />7.3 <br /> <br />At the end of the initial twelve (12) month <br /> <br />period from date of execution of this Agreement, CITY may <br /> <br />assume CUSTOMER meter reading, collection of CUSTOMER billing <br /> <br />and associated support functions in Austin, Texas, being <br /> <br />performed by LCRA upon reasonable written notice to LCRA and <br /> <br />under circumstances in which the transfer of the functions <br /> <br />either would be more economical and efficient for the CITY to <br /> <br />assume the functions, or would be in the best interest <br /> <br />-25- <br />
