<br />ISSUING INDUSTRIAL WASTE PERMITS <br />FOR NEW CUSTOMERS <br /> <br />Any person who will be discharging industrial wastes into any sanitary <br />sewer shall obtain an Industrial Waste Permit prior to discharging. <br /> <br />Procedure: <br /> <br />Any person requesting an Industrial Waste <br />through the following steps: <br /> <br />Permit <br /> <br />shall <br /> <br />progress <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Complete an Industrial Waster Permit Application Form <br />attached copy) <br /> <br />(see <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Submit the application to the Director with a copy of the <br />Spill Prevention and Control Plan required by Section 30-64 <br />(10) of the Industrial Waste Ordinance. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />If the Director approves the application he shall advertise <br />in the public notice section of the San Marcos Daily Record <br />his intent to issue the Permit <br /> <br />OR <br /> <br />If the Director disapproves the application, he shall notify <br />the applicant in writing specifying why the application was <br />disapproved. In the case of an existing discharger the <br />written notice shall specify a time by which the Permit <br />shall be obtained. <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />Discharging industrial waste without first obtaining a <br />Permit is in violation of the Industrial Waste Ordinance and <br />the discharger is subject to water service termination <br />and/or up to a $1,000.00 per day fine for each day of the <br />violation. <br /> <br />-3- <br />
