<br />1.2.5 <br /> <br />The Engineer shall submit to the <br /> <br />Owner <br /> <br />a <br /> <br />further <br /> <br />detailed <br /> <br />cost estimate. <br /> <br />1.3 <br /> <br />CONSTRUCTION/CONTRACT DOCUMENTS PHASE <br /> <br />1.3.1. <br /> <br />Based on the Design Development Documents, the Engineer shall <br /> <br />prepare <br /> <br />all <br /> <br />construction <br /> <br />contract <br /> <br />documents using forms supplied by <br /> <br />Owner (not including plans or <br /> <br />technical <br /> <br />specifications) <br /> <br />as <br /> <br />well <br /> <br />as <br /> <br />plans <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />specifications, <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />drawings <br /> <br />setting forth in detail the <br /> <br />requirements for construction, subject to review and <br /> <br />approval <br /> <br />by <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />Owner. <br /> <br />Four (4) sets of such documents shall be submitted to Owner for <br /> <br />review, <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />Engineer <br /> <br />shall <br /> <br />make all revisions as required by Owner. <br /> <br />One (1) mylar reproducible set shall be <br /> <br />provided <br /> <br />to <br /> <br />Owner <br /> <br />prior <br /> <br />to <br /> <br />authorization of bidding by Owner and after all revisions are made. <br /> <br />1.3.2 <br /> <br />The <br /> <br />Engineer <br /> <br />shall <br /> <br />advise <br /> <br />the Owner of any adjustments to <br /> <br />previous detailed cost estimates indicated by changes <br /> <br />in <br /> <br />requirements <br /> <br />or <br /> <br />general market conditions by preparation of a revised detailed cost <br /> <br />estimate. <br /> <br />1.3.3 <br /> <br />The Engineer shall assist the Owner in making application for <br /> <br />all necessary permits from governmental authorities having jurisdiction <br /> <br />over the project(s). <br /> <br />1.4 BIDDING PHASE <br />1.4.1 The Engineer, following the Owner's approval of the <br />construction contract documents and of the latest detailed cost <br /> <br />estimate, shall assist in <br /> <br />obtaining <br /> <br />bids, <br /> <br />reviewing <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />tabulating <br /> <br />bids, <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />in <br /> <br />awarding <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />contract <br /> <br />for construction. <br /> <br />Owner shall <br /> <br />assume the responsibility for the printing of the construction contract <br /> <br />documents, the <br /> <br />distribution <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />construction <br /> <br />contract <br /> <br />documents <br /> <br />to <br /> <br />prospective <br /> <br />bidders <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />to <br /> <br />plan <br /> <br />rooms. <br /> <br />Engineer <br /> <br />shall <br /> <br />also <br /> <br />be <br /> <br />responsible for the issuance of <br /> <br />addenda <br /> <br />(if <br /> <br />any) <br /> <br />following <br /> <br />OvlNER' s <br /> <br />prior <br /> <br />approval. <br /> <br />The Engineer shall assist the Owner in reviewing the <br /> <br />Statement of Bidder's Qualifications financial statements of <br /> <br />bidders, <br /> <br />lists <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />bidders' <br /> <br />proposed <br /> <br />subcontractors, <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />shall <br /> <br />make <br /> <br />a <br /> <br />recommendation to Owner regarding award of bid. <br /> <br />Engineer shall conduct <br /> <br />a pre-bid conference and shall answer all questions of <br /> <br />prospective <br /> <br />or <br /> <br />potential <br /> <br />bidders <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />Owner's <br /> <br />staff <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />shall <br /> <br />make all necessary <br /> <br />clarifications <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />interpretations <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />construction <br /> <br />contract <br /> <br />documents. <br /> <br />However, Engineer shall have no authority to issue a Notice <br /> <br />To Proceed to contractor. <br /> <br />-3- <br />
