<br />a. provide application forms to persons requesting legal aid; <br />b. interview such applicants for financial requirements; <br />c. determine the financial eligibility of such applicants; <br />d. provide to Legal Aid a formal written notice indicating: <br />(1) Applicant's name <br />(2) Applicant's complete mailing address <br />(3) date <br />(4) whether applicant is able or unable to pay for services <br />e. such notice shall be signed by Community Action. <br /> <br />2. Community Action shall use the current federal poverty guidelines for <br />eligibility determinations, save and accept that such guidelines may be <br />modified as required by the major funding agency (any entity funding more than <br />50 of the Program's financial needs) as it desms appropriate. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />Community Action's current guidelines are described in paragraph C, below. <br /> <br />4. Community Action will provide the notices required to Legal Aid or the <br />attorney in charge of Legal Aid (Program Director). <br /> <br />C. <br /> <br />COMMUNITY ACTION FINANCIAL QUALIFICATIONS <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Financial-S~attls-of-Applieants' <br /> <br />An applicant is financially eligible for legal services if his household <br />income is equal to or less than the standard set forth below, provided <br />that his disposable capital assets do not exceed the standard set forth below: <br /> <br />Household Income: <br /> <br />(a) Income includes the net value of benefits from all sources (e.g. <br />wages and salary, dividends, rents, interest, pensions, annuities, child <br />support payments, alimony, etc,. Mandatory decuctions from earned income are <br />subtracted from gross income to obtain the net income figure. <br /> <br />(b) The period of computation means the projected 12 month period <br />following the date of application based on current income. <br /> <br />(c) Household includes all persons. whether related or not, and whether <br />oi not they have income. who are living in the same dwelling unit and share <br />common expenses or benefits. <br /> <br />(d) Household lneome Eligibility Sahedule~ <br /> <br />2 <br />
