It was <br />consensus of Council to set the tax rate at 49 cents. <br /> <br />Mayor Younger introduced for consideration adoption of an Ordinance <br />on emergency setting the tax rate for the City for the 1986 tax year, <br />levying taxes for the use and support of the Municipal Government of <br />the City for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 1986 and ending <br />September 30, 1987, providing a sinking fund for the retirement of <br />the bonded debt of the City. This item was not considered, because <br />the tax calculation needed to be published prior to consideration of <br />this Ordinance. This item was rescheduled to be considered September <br />15, 1986. <br /> <br />Mayor Younger introduced for consideration adoption of an Ordinance <br />on emergency, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, SETTING FORTH AN ITEMIZED ESTIMATE OF <br />THE EXPENSE OF CONDUCTING EACH ADMINISTRATIVE UNIT <br />OF THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT OF SAID CITY FOR THE FIS- <br />CAL YEAR BEGINNING ON OCTOBER 1, 1986 AND ENDING ON <br />SEPTEMBER 30, 1987, AND APPROPRIATING MONEY FOR THE <br />VARIOUS FUNDS AND PURPOSES OF SUCH ESTIMATE; APPROPRIAT- <br />ING MONEY TO PAY INTEREST AND PRINCIPAL SINKING FUND <br />REQUIREMENTS ON ALL INDEBTEDNESS; AMENDING APPROPRIATIONS <br />OF REVENUE SHARING FUNDS; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE FOR <br />TEE REPEAL OF ALL ORDINANCES AND APPROPRIATIONS IN CON- <br />FLICT WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ORDINANCE~ AUTHORIZING <br />LINE ITEM ADJUSTMENTS WITHIN DEPARTMENT ACCOUNTS WITH <br />THE APPROVAL OF THE CITY MANAGER AS PROVIDED IN SECTION <br />8.17 OF THE CHARTER AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />Mr. Farr moved for adoption of the Ordinance on emergency and Ms. Kissler <br />seconded the motion. On roll call the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Brown, Farr, Guerra, Kissler, Nicola. <br /> <br />NAY: Coddington, Younger. <br /> <br />ABSTAIN: None. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 2:14 a.m. on motion made by Mr. Brown and se- <br />conded by Mr. Guerra. <br /> <br /> <br />.
