Removal and disposition of dog feces from public <br /> and private propertýrequired. <br />It shall be unlawful for any owner or handler of a dog to <br />fail to promptly remove and dispose of in a sanitary manner, <br />feces left by the dog while under the direct physical control <br />of the owner or handler on property, public or private, other <br />than the premises of the owner or handler of such dog, and <br />such owner or handler who so fails to make such removal and <br />disposal shall be punished by a fine not exceeding fifty <br />dollars ($5Ø.ØØ). <br />Sec. 3-28. Citations to appear. <br />(a) Employees of the city, as designated by the city <br />manager, may issue a citation to the owner of an animal found <br />in violation of this chapter. <br />(b) Such a citation ::-ilia] J conta.:ili tJ:E' foJ 1 m,;'jrp,; info¡:r,-"JUOj-,: <br /> (1) The name and address of the person cited. <br /> (2) The offense and section number of the city code for <br /> which the person cited is charged. <br /> (3) The date when the offense occurred. <br /> (4) The location of the offense. <br /> (5) A written promise of the person cited to appear <br /> before the Municipal Court within ten (10) days to <br /> answer to the charge of a violation of this <br /> chapter. Signing of the citation shall only be a <br /> promise to appear and shall not be an admission of <br /> guilt. <br />(c) It shall be unlawful for any person being issued any <br />citation to give the city employee a false name or address. <br />(d) It shall be unlawful for a person who has been cited to <br />fail to appear in Municipal Court within ten (lØ) days of the <br />signing of the citation. <br /> DIVISION 2. REGISTRATION <br />Sec. 3-25. Generally. <br />(a) No owner shall have within the city any dog over the age <br />of four (4) months unless such dog is currently registered <br />with the animal control officer. No dog shall be registered <br />unless it has a current rabies vaccination. A registration <br />shall be considered as being current for the period of the <br />current vaccination for which it was issued. A <br />vaccination-registration certificate and tag may be obtained <br />at the time of vaccination from veterinarians who have <br />obtained authority from the animal control officer to issue <br />them, or from an employee at the animaJ. control department <br />upon presentation of a certificate of current rabies <br />vaccination. <br />(b) Upon application by a veterinarian, the animal control <br />officer shall furnish said veterinarian with a supply of <br />prenumbered vaccination-registration certificates and <br />corresponding tags.
