THE STATE OF TEXAS 123 CONTRACT FOR AUDIT SERVICES COUNTY OF HAYS KNOW ALL PERSONS BY THESE PRESENTS: That the City of San Marcos, Hays County, Texas, a municipal corporation existing by and under the laws of the State of Texas, hereinafter referred to as " City", acting through its Mayor, Enunie Craddock, hereunto duly authorized by a resolution of the City Council of said City, adopted July 22 , 1985, and Harold V. Simpson & Company, hereinafter referred to as "Auditor", a firm doing business as certified public accountants in Austin, Texas, enter into this agreemen-t for a regular annual audit, the preparation of a financial statement based on such audit, and other additional accounting services to be provided to the City of San Marcos, Texas; said audit covering the fiscal year commencing October 1, 1984 and ending September 30, 1985; the terms of said agreement being as follows: 1. REGULAR ANNUAL AUDIT: Auditor agrees to conduct a regular annual audit of the financial records and accounts of the City of San Marcos, Texas. It is expressly agreed that said audit shall include the books and accounts of each and every department of said City for the fiscal year ending September 30, 1985. II. COMPENSATION FOR REGULAR M~NUAL AUDIT: The City agrees to compensate the Auditor for said annual audit in an amount not to exceed Twenty-Two Thousand and No/100 Dollars ($22,000.00), said amount being billed as work is completed from and after July 15, 1985, and said work shall be completed prior to January 31, 1986, with the final billing to occur on receipt by the City of the final, complete annual audit document. Auditor shall request payment in the form and manner prescribed by City and payment shall be according to the attached Exhibit A which sets out hourly rates for said service.
