<br /> August 27, 1985 <br />Mayor Emmie Craddock <br />630 East Hopkins Street <br />San Marcos, Texas 78666 <br />Dear Mayor Craddock: <br /> The application with evidence for San Marcos to be <br />selected a Main Street City must be completed very soon. <br />As a member of the original 1983 "Coalition for Main <br />Street", I write in support of the progress which has <br />been made and with commitment that it can and must be <br />continued. <br /> Even casual observation will reveal positive improve- <br />ments which have occurred "on the Square" and others which <br />are in progress. The potentials for a unique and produc- <br />tive downtown area are present, but much more remains to <br />be done. <br /> It appears that the fiscal intentions formerly pos- <br />sible for enterprises of this kind may soon be unavailable. <br />Therefore, we must act now to ensure that San Marcos gets <br />the recognition spe deserves as a 1986 Main Street City! <br /> Sincerely yours, <br /> ßt. ~ KxI~ <br /> Dr. Gwen K.
