Civil Engineering, Texas A & M University - 1975 <br /> Professional Engineer Registration: Texas <br /> Professional Affiliations: <br /> Texas Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE) <br /> National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) <br /> International Society for Soil Mechanics <br /> and Foundation Engineers (ISSMFE) <br /> American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) <br /> Chi Eps ilon <br /> Continuing Education: <br /> Critical State Soil Mechanics Short Course - UCLA 1977 <br /> Miscellaneous Engineering Management and Technical Seminars <br /> While working on his degree at Texas A & M University, Mr. Cozart was <br /> employed as a graduate research assistant for Texas Transportation Institute. <br /> His thesis, based on research sponsored by TTI, entitled "Correlations of the <br /> THD Cone Penetrometer Test N-Value and the Drained Shear Strength Parameters <br /> of Sand" was published by Texas Transportation Institute and was used in <br /> development of foundation design criteria in Texas Highway Department's <br /> Foundation Manual, <br /> Mr, Cozart was employed by Fugro Gulf, Inc., between 1975 and 1978 where <br /> he gained experience from a wide variety of major local and international <br /> construction projects, specializing in the geotechnical aspects of deep and <br /> shallow foundations, <br /> Since joining SWL in 1978, Mr. Cozart has served as Manager of the <br /> Geotechnical Engineering Division in Beaumont and Austin. During that time <br /> he has supervised geotechnical studies for major commercial and industrial <br /> facilities, These have included the Edison Plaza Tower for Gulf States <br /> Utilities Company, the 3M Center, The Schlumberger Austin System Center, The <br /> IBM Phase I Expansion of their Austin Facility, and currently the City of <br /> Austins Waste-to-Energy Power Plant. He has supervised geotechnical <br /> investigations for maj or industrial facilities in the petrochemical, <br /> shipbuilding, steel, and forrest industries, <br /> Mr, Cozart has also supervised geotechnical drilling, sampling and in <br /> situ testing for projects performed for the Texas Highway Department, between <br /> 1982 and 1985. These projects were performed under a term contract between <br /> SWL and the THD, which has been renewed annually, since 1982. <br /> SOUTHWESTERN LABORATORIES <br />
