The director will advise newly <br />appointed members who do not already meet these requirements of the <br />date and location of approved seminars, and will facilitate their <br />registration and attendance at the seminars. The members are entitled to <br />reimbursement for reasonable costs of attendance. If a newly appointed <br />member- does not, Laflffveaddy meet these attendance fe As at the time <br />ment, —and the member fails to fulfill these attendance <br />requirements within six months of being appointed, the appointment is <br />automatically rescinded and the city council will make a new appointment. <br />SECTION 4. Chapter 2, Article 3, Section 2.211 of the San Marcos City Code is <br />amended as follows: <br />Sec. 2.211. Established; composition; appointment of members. <br />(a) There is established the Main Street Advisory Board. The <br />board is composed of nine members appointed by the city council, six of <br />whom must be citizens of the city and three of whom may be persons who <br />may live out of the city, but work and /or own a business in the city. <br />Membership will be widely representative of the community, including <br />but not limited to downtown business owners, downtown building owners, <br />downtown association leaders, city officials, county officials, architects, <br />chamber of commerce leaders, bankers, attorneys, historical group leaders, <br />interested citizens and media representatives. <br />(b) Members are appointed to three -year staggered terms. The <br />members will, at their first meeting following annual appointments eaeh <br />yeah elect a chairperson, vice - chairperson and secretary. They may elect <br />other officers and form committees as they may determine necessary for <br />the proper performance of their duties. <br />SECTION 5. Chapter 2, Article 3, Section 2.231 of the San Marcos City Code is <br />amended as follows: <br />Sec. 2.231. Established; appointment of members; organization. <br />(a) There is established the human services advisory board. <br />The board consists of eight citizens of the city, appointed by the city <br />council. Seven members will be voting members and the eighth member <br />will be a non - voting member, and will be a person with a degree in social <br />work with experience in social service administration.
