D. Res\dent\a\ ,and uses represent 3, 6, and '7 LUEs per acre for
low, med\um, and high density housing, respectively
E. Comerctal and tndustria11and uses represent 5 LUEs per acre
5. Projected wastewater flows for the service area were generated for
S-year, 1 a-year, 2O-year planning horizons (yea-s ending 1990, 1995, and
2005) and ultimate bui1dout based on the projected land use bui1dout
schedules.
1he projected lUE. demaoos êI"Id wastewater news for each planning
horizon and for each entity are presented in Table 3.
6. A preHminary design for faci\1ties. including phasing of construction.
was prepared in order to meet the projected wastewater demand for the
20-year planning horizon. The plNliocludes two g-avity interceptors serving
both sides of IH 35 aM a combined interceptor lea(jjog to the wastewater
treatment plant site. Uft stations and force mains will be reQUired to serve
the areas west of IH 35 and within the North San Marcos Service Area. as weH
as the area to the south of the Municipal Airport. The proposed treatment
plant site \S in the vicinity of the municipal airport on the unnamed tributary
of the San Marcos River (see attached map).
7. Construction cost estimates were calculated for each facUity. The
esttmates were based on unit costs for facility components in t 985 do\1ars.
Contingency costs of t 5~ and engineering costs of \ O~ of construction were
inchJded. The specific faciHUes and their estimated construction costs for
the 5-year, to-year and 20-year planning horizons are presented in Tables
4A. 48, 4C and 5.
The interceptor pipeline is to be instaHed at fun size initiaHy to avoid
the added cost of construct ing paral1el relief lines in the future. The
wastewater treatment plant and lift stations are to be bunt in phases. with
additional capacity constructed every five to ten years. By 1995. 11ft
5t3t Ions and force mains serving the Sink. Creek. basin and south of the
wastewater treatment plant are to be constructed. The force mains serving
these areas are to be oversized initial1y to avoid the added cost of paral1el
re I ief mains.
-,-
