<br />PROCEEDS <br /> <br />The proceeds of the Bonds will be used to provide funds which will be sufficient to <br />refund the City's Combination Tax and Revenue Certificates of Obligation, Series 1982, <br />Series 1982-A, and Series 1982-B. <br /> <br /> <br />WATERWORKS SYSTEM <br /> <br />The City of San Marcos receives its total water supply from four existing wells tapping <br />the Edwards Aquifer. The system is served from two pressure planes, the upper pressure <br />plan serving the area above the Balcones Escarpment with the lower pressure plane serving <br />the remainder of the City. The City's waterworks system is comprised of three pump <br />stations, two ground storage tanks, and three elevated storage tanks. The system consists of approx- <br />imately 85 miles of collection lines with 42 lift stations. After treatment, waste- <br />water is returned to the San Marcos River. <br /> <br />The improvements being undertaken at this time will increase the system capacity to <br />6.25 MGD and serve a projected population of 46,000 in the year 2000. <br /> <br />Storm water is collected in an entirely seperate gravity feed storm system and is <br />completely segregated from the sanitary sewer system.
