Box 1689 <br /> Fort Worth, Texas 76101 <br /> Gentlemen: <br /> Pursuant to the requirements of the Federal Aviation Administration <br /> Regulation Part 154, "Aquisi tion of u.s. Airway Land for Public <br /> Airports Under the Airport and Airway Development Act of 1970", the <br /> City of San Marcos submits herewith an application for conveyance of <br /> property interest presently held by the Gary Job Corps Center. The <br /> property concerned boarders San Marcos Municipal Airport and consists <br /> primarily of flightline property adjacent to aircraft parking apron, <br /> which is needed to expand facilities at San Marcos Municipal Airport. <br /> In accordance with FAR Part 154, Section 154.7 (b), the following <br /> application is submitted for your consideration: <br /> 1. Name and address of applicant: City of San Marcos, 630 <br /> E. Hopkins, San Marcos, Texas, 78666. <br /> 2. Name of Airport: San Marcos Municipal Airport. It is <br /> located approximately 2 miles east of San Marcos, Texas, on <br /> State Highway 21. <br /> 3. The airport is not being operated under a lease agreement <br /> from a publ ic agency. <br /> 4. The City of San Marcos has legal authority and the <br /> financial ability to develop, improve, construct, operate and <br /> maintain the airport. The City has completed a comprehensive <br /> Airport Master Plan of the facility, which was accomplished <br /> in part through a grant from the Federal Aviation <br /> Administration. It is also currently installing improved <br /> airport lighting facilities, also paid for in part by a <br /> Federal Aviation Administration grant. The City Council of <br /> San Marcos has authorized the application to the Federal <br /> Aviation Administration for additional grant funds to <br /> undertake additional major airfield and airport improvements. <br /> The City is authorized under Texas statutes to own and <br /> operate an airport. <br /> city hall' 630 e. hopkins san marcos, texas' 78666 . 512/353-4444 <br />
