<br /> ( 5) who does not have and does not <br /> receive credit for the service in <br /> any other public retirement system <br /> or program established under laws <br /> of this state. <br /> (c) An eligible member may not establish more <br /> than sixty (60) months of credit in the <br /> Texas Municipal Retirement System for <br /> military service. <br /> (d) Periods of organized conflict for purposes <br /> of this section shall be those periods <br /> recognized as such by rule of the board of <br /> trustees of the Texas Municipal Retirement <br /> System. <br /> ( e) In order to establish credit for military <br /> service hereunder, an eligible member must <br /> deposit with the Texas Municipal Retirement <br /> System (in that member's individual account <br /> in the Employees Saving Fund), before the <br /> first anniversary of the effective date of <br /> this section or before the first <br /> anniversary of the date the member becomes <br /> eligible to establish the credit (whichever <br /> is later) an amount equal to the number of <br /> months for which credit is sought (up to <br /> sixty (60) months), multiplied by $15.00, <br /> and the City shall contribute an amount <br /> equal to the amount deposited by the <br /> eligible member, multiplied by the City of <br /> San Marcos's current service matching <br /> percentage in effect on the date the member <br /> applies for credit hereunder. If an <br /> eligible member elects to establish less <br /> than the full amount of credit for military <br /> service that he or she is entitled to, that <br /> member may not establish any additional <br /> such credit at a future date. The City of <br /> San Marcos will pay into its account in the <br /> Municipality Accumulation Fund all sums <br /> which become due hereunder as a result of <br /> the granting of such credit. <br /> SE(,'l' ION 2. That the importance of this Ordinance creates <br /> an eme.rgency and an imperative purpose necessary that the provisions <br /> of the Charter requiring that ordinances shall be read at three <br /> separate meetings and that no ordinance shall become effective until <br /> the expiration of ten (10) days following the date of its final <br /> passage be suspended~ and these provisions are hereby suspended~ <br /> and this Ordinance shall become effective on April 1~ 1984 after its <br /> publication in a newspaper of general circulation in the City. <br /> 1:'ASSED~ APPROVED~ AND ADOPTED~ ~MarCh ~ 1986. <br /> Emmie Craddock <br /> Mayor <br /> Att~ ff~ <br /> ~s K.
