<br />57 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Regular Meeting January 14, 1985 Page l4 <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Farr moved for adoption and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, <br />the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, RATIFYING THE EXECUTION BY THE CITY <br />MANAGER OF SAID CITY OF AN APPLICATION FOR ASSISTANCE <br />FROM THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION OF THE GOVERNOR'S <br />OFFICE FOR A JUVENILE LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER AND DE- <br />CLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Guerra moved for adoption of the Resolution and Ms. Kissler seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, <br />the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, RATIFYING THE EXECUTION BY THE CITY <br />MANAGER OF SAID CITY OF AN APPLICATION FOR ASSISTANCE <br />FROM THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION OF THE GOVERNOR'S <br />OFFICE FOR A CRIME PREVENTION COORDINATOR AND DECLARING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Moore se- <br />conded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for reconsideration authorization and approv <br />al of the issuance of bonds by the Capital Area Housing Finance Corpora- <br />tion for San Marcos Ranch Development (228 multi-family units on Ranch <br />Road 12). Mr. Farr moved to table this item until such time as we re- <br />ceived a document from the owners of the property giving a differential <br />rate and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration award of bid for three used <br />automobiles for the Police Department. Dan Nelson advised the Council <br />only one bid was received and when the Police Department inspected the <br />automobiles on the bid, they were also shown an additional car by <br />Henna Chevrolet. Mr. Coddington moved to award bid to Henna Chevrolet <br />of Austin, Texas for two Celebrities at $8,200 each and one Fairmont <br />at $4,850, totaling $21,250.00 (Mr. Nelson advised the three automobiles <br />could be purchased for $21,000.00 even). Mr. Guerra seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval for the purchase <br />of a night vision scope for the Police Department. Mr. Farr moved for <br />approval of the purchase of the night vision scope from Special <br />Services Company of Garland, Texas in the amount of $3,950.00. Mr. <br />Guerra seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Farr moved the Council adjourn into Executive Session pursuant to <br />Article 6252-17, §§2(e), (f) and (g), V.A.C.S., to discuss pending li- <br />tigation (McDonald vs. City; College Oaks vs. City; Stokes vs. City¡ <br />McDonald vs. County¡ N.A.A.C. vs. City), contemplated litigation and mat- <br />ters where the duties of the City Attorney to the City pursuant to the <br />Code of Professional Responsibility of the State Bar of Texas clearly con- <br />flicts with Article 6252-17, (negotiation of contracts, discussion of <br />City's legal position in administrative matters), exchange of real <br />property, value of real property, employment of a public officer or <br />employee, evaluation of a public officer of employee, reassignment of <br />a public officer or employee, and duties of a public officer or employee, <br />respectively. Ms. Kissler seconded the motion, which passed unanimously <br />(11:24 p.m.). <br />
