<br /> 83 <br /> STATE OF TEXAS <br /> CONTRACT FOR PROFESSIONAL <br /> SERVICES <br /> COUNTY OF HAYS <br /> KNOW ALL PERSONS BY THESE PRESENTS: <br /> This Contract and Agreement made and entered on this 7th <br /> day of May, 1984, by and between the City of San Marcos, a <br /> municipal corporation of the State of Texas, hereinafter <br /> referred to as "City," and Michael J. McMains and Otis W. <br /> Snyder, Jr., hereinafter referred to as the "Consultants, " <br /> witnesseth: <br /> In consideration of the mutual agreements hereinafter <br /> contained and subject to the terms and conditions hereinafter <br /> stated, it is hereby understood and agreed by the parties <br /> hereto as follows: <br /> 1. That the City desires to secure the services of <br /> persons trained in psychological testing and evaluations for <br /> and on behalf of the City of San Marcos Police Department; <br /> 2. That the Consultants are ready, willing, able, and <br /> professionally qualified to undertake such services for the <br /> City; <br /> 3. That the Consultants will perform the following <br /> services: <br /> a. Will administer a battery of appropriate tests <br /> to each police officer applicant recommended <br /> for psychological screening by the City. The <br /> results of all the tests will be screened and <br /> interpreted by a qualified psychologist. The <br /> MMPI tests, when used, will be scored either <br /> by a qualified psychologist or a qualified <br /> professional testing serVlce. The detailed <br /> reliability and validity data for each test <br /> will be available on request. <br /> b. Will interview each police officer candidate <br /> personally and, if necessary, subject such <br /> candidate to a period of observation by one or <br /> more psychologists. <br /> c. will prepare a written report for the City <br /> concerning the psychological fitness of each <br /> candidate to be a San Marcos Police Officer. <br /> The report will include specific conclusions <br /> made by the Consultants and the justification <br /> for the conclusions. <br />
