83 STATE OF TEXAS CONTRACT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES COUNTY OF HAYS KNOW ALL PERSONS BY THESE PRESENTS: This Contract and Agreement made and entered on this 7th day of May, 1984, by and between the City of San Marcos, a municipal corporation of the State of Texas, hereinafter referred to as "City," and Michael J. McMains and Otis W. Snyder, Jr., hereinafter referred to as the "Consultants, " witnesseth: In consideration of the mutual agreements hereinafter contained and subject to the terms and conditions hereinafter stated, it is hereby understood and agreed by the parties hereto as follows: 1. That the City desires to secure the services of persons trained in psychological testing and evaluations for and on behalf of the City of San Marcos Police Department; 2. That the Consultants are ready, willing, able, and professionally qualified to undertake such services for the City; 3. That the Consultants will perform the following services: a. Will administer a battery of appropriate tests to each police officer applicant recommended for psychological screening by the City. The results of all the tests will be screened and interpreted by a qualified psychologist. The MMPI tests, when used, will be scored either by a qualified psychologist or a qualified professional testing serVlce. The detailed reliability and validity data for each test will be available on request. b. Will interview each police officer candidate personally and, if necessary, subject such candidate to a period of observation by one or more psychologists. c. will prepare a written report for the City concerning the psychological fitness of each candidate to be a San Marcos Police Officer. The report will include specific conclusions made by the Consultants and the justification for the conclusions.
