<br /> -14- <br /> 102. Structural alterations: Any change in supporting <br /> members of a building such as load-bearing walls, columns, <br /> girders, beams or the entire roof. <br /> 103. Subdivision: The term "subdivision" shall mean the <br /> division of land into two ( 2) or more parts. All transfers <br /> of ownership, division, or developments of land shall be <br /> governed by the subdivision ordinance (Appendix C of this <br /> volume.) <br /> 104. Tourist court: See "Hotel/motel. " <br /> 105. Townhouse or rowhouse: One of a group of no less <br /> than two ( 2) nor more than eight ( 8) adjoining single-family <br /> dwelling units sharing a common wall with one or more of <br /> said adjoining dwelling units, each dwelling unit located <br /> on a separate lot. <br /> 106. Trailer: See "mobile home, " "Recreational vehicle <br /> or travel trailer." <br /> 107. Trailer park: See "Mobile home park. " <br /> 108. Used car lot: A lot or portion thereof to be used <br /> only for the display and sale of automobiles that are in <br /> condition to be driven on or off the lot. A used car <br /> lot shall not be used for the storage of wrecked automobiles, <br /> or the dismantling of automobiles, or the storage of <br /> automobile parts. <br /> 109. Wholesale: The sale of commodities for the purpose <br /> of resale, as to retailers or jobbers rather than to <br /> consumers directly; opposed to retail. Of, pertaining to, <br /> or engaged in sale at wholesale. <br /> 110. Yard: An open space between a building and the <br /> adjoining lot lines, unoccupied and unobstructed by any <br /> portion of a structure from the ground upward, except <br /> as otherwise herein provided. In measuring a yard for <br /> the purpose of determining the width of a side yard, the <br /> depth of a front yard, or the depth of a rear yard, the <br /> minimum horizontal distance between the lot line and the <br /> main building shall be used. <br /> a. Front: A yard extending across the front of a <br /> lot between the side lot lines, and being the <br /> minimum horizontal distance between the right- <br /> of-way line and wall of the main building or <br /> any projections thereof other than the projections <br /> of the usual uncovered steps, uncovered balconies, <br /> or uncovered porches. On corner lots the front yard <br /> shall be considered as parallel to the street upon <br /> which the lot has its least dimension except where <br /> corner lots may be square in dimension and/or have <br /> double frontage, at which time the front yard shall <br /> correspond to the lot's side adjacent to the longest <br /> block face in which it occurs and to which the majority <br /> of the existing structures front. <br /> b. Rear: A yard extending across the rear of a lot <br /> and being the minimum horizontal distance between <br /> the rear lot line and the rear of the main building <br /> or any projections thereof other than the projections <br /> of the usual uncovered steps, uncovered balconies, <br /> or uncovered porches. On all lots the rear yard shall <br /> be in the rear of the front yard. <br /> c. Side: A yard between the main building and the side <br /> line of the lot, and being the minimum horizontal <br /> distance between a side lot line and the side of the <br /> main buildings or any projections thereof. <br />
