ATTACHHENT "A", Page 13 - 2 - 5. The E.O.C. is in a sub~basement also used as Central Fire Station. The coordinator is the Fire Chief who has at his disposal 28 paid firefighters, 30 volunteer firefighters, City workers and members of the private sector: Game Commission L.C.R.A.------- Electrical workers Telephone Co.-- Communications Schools-------- Shelter/transportation Churches------- Shelter Hospitals------ Medical The E.O.C. has an emergency generator powered by natural gas. Elements: 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 6. We depend on radio station KCNY, short wave radio, weather stations, television, DPS, Austin and Hondo radar weather stations for communications and warning. 7. Warning sirens are used to alert people. ~Ye also have radio station KCNY which will stay on the air 24 hours a day to help us warn people and tell them what to do (people are educated to stay tuned to KCNY if floods or other emergencies occur. After the station goes off the air, they will be awakened when the station comes back on the air). ~Ye have several ham radio operators to call other areas. Part of our warning system consists of flood monitors on our streams which are wired directly into E.O.C. (Fire Station) which is manned 24 hours to give us advance warning of high water. 8. We are equippped with a 300 watt radio dispatch system. We have 25 pagers, 20 monitors, 25 radios and handi-talkies distributed through the City with trained volunteers and paid firefighters to evacuate people. The Hospital holds emergency exercises with the E.O.C., last one being in May of 19534. We run the second call for ambulance with 17 certified emergency medical technicians out of Central Fire Station (E.O.C.). 9. Our operations room is a bvo room area (office & restroom) located in Central Fire Station which 1S sub-basement, with one unlisted and 4 listed telephone lines and radio dispatch (300 watt) with police frequency transmission capabilities. 10. Damage assessment would be done by the City Finance Department. 11. The E.O.C. is the Fire Chief's Office; the Disaster Coordinator 1S the Fire Chief. 12. The E.O.C. 1S open 24 hours daily.
