<br /> ATTACHHENT "A", Page 13 - 2 - <br /> 5. The E.O.C. is in a sub~basement also used as <br /> Central Fire Station. The coordinator is the <br /> Fire Chief who has at his disposal 28 paid <br /> firefighters, 30 volunteer firefighters, City <br /> workers and members of the private sector: <br /> Game Commission <br /> L.C.R.A.------- Electrical workers <br /> Telephone Co.-- Communications <br /> Schools-------- Shelter/transportation <br /> Churches------- Shelter <br /> Hospitals------ Medical <br /> The E.O.C. has an emergency generator powered <br /> by natural gas. <br /> Elements: 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 <br /> 6. We depend on radio station KCNY, short wave radio, <br /> weather stations, television, DPS, Austin and <br /> Hondo radar weather stations for communications <br /> and warning. <br /> 7. Warning sirens are used to alert people. ~Ye also <br /> have radio station KCNY which will stay on the <br /> air 24 hours a day to help us warn people and tell <br /> them what to do (people are educated to stay tuned <br /> to KCNY if floods or other emergencies occur. <br /> After the station goes off the air, they will be <br /> awakened when the station comes back on the air). <br /> ~Ye have several ham radio operators to call other <br /> areas. <br /> Part of our warning system consists of flood <br /> monitors on our streams which are wired directly <br /> into E.O.C. (Fire Station) which is manned 24 <br /> hours to give us advance warning of high water. <br /> 8. We are equippped with a 300 watt radio dispatch <br /> system. We have 25 pagers, 20 monitors, 25 <br /> radios and handi-talkies distributed through the <br /> City with trained volunteers and paid firefighters <br /> to evacuate people. <br /> The Hospital holds emergency exercises with the <br /> E.O.C., last one being in May of 19534. We run the <br /> second call for ambulance with 17 certified <br /> emergency medical technicians out of Central Fire <br /> Station (E.O.C.). <br /> 9. Our operations room is a bvo room area (office & <br /> restroom) located in Central Fire Station which <br /> 1S sub-basement, with one unlisted and 4 listed <br /> telephone lines and radio dispatch (300 watt) with <br /> police frequency transmission capabilities. <br /> 10. Damage assessment would be done by the City Finance <br /> Department. <br /> 11. The E.O.C. is the Fire Chief's Office; the Disaster <br /> Coordinator 1S the Fire Chief. <br /> 12. The E.O.C. 1S open 24 hours daily. <br />
