<br /> 33 <br /> Regular Meeting March 25, 1985 Page8 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 29-123 OF ARTICLE V <br /> OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY TO PROVIDE THAT <br /> WHEN SIGNS ARE ERECTED GIVING NOTICE, NO PERSON SHALL <br /> PARK A VEHICLE UPON ANY STREET OR ALLEY OR PART OF ANY <br /> STREET OR ALLEY DESIGNATED THEREIN; AMENDING SAID SECTION <br /> OF SAID ARTICLE OF SAID CODE TO ADD A LOCATION WITHIN <br /> SAID CITY AT WHICH NO PERSON SHALL PARK A VEHICLE WHEN <br /> SIGN(S) ARE ERECTED GIVING NOTICE THEREOF; AMENDING <br /> SECTION 29-152(c) OF ARTICLE VII OF SAID CODE TO PROVIDE <br /> THAT ANY VEHICLES FOUND STANDING OR PARKED UPON PARTS <br /> OF STREETS OR ALLEYS DESIGNATED THEREIN SHALL BE A <br /> NUISANCE PER SE AND t~EN SIGNS ARE ERECTED GIVING NOTICE <br /> THEREOF AND DESIGNATING SUCH AREAS AS TOW-AWAY ZONES, <br /> THEY SHALL BE REMOVED BY ANY POLICE OFFICER AND TAKEN <br /> TO A PLACE DESIGNATED BY THE CHIEF OF POLICE; AMENDING <br /> SAID SECTION OF SAID ARTICLE OF SAID CODE TO ADD THREE <br /> LOCATIONS WITHIN SAID CITY WHICH SHALL BE DESIGNATED AS <br /> TOW-AWAY ZONES; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration Item 7A(2) which was removed <br /> from the consensus agenda, being an Ordinance on second reading, the <br /> caption of which was not read into the record, but which reads as follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE PROJECT PLAN AND FINANC- <br /> ING PLAN OF REINVESTMENT ZONE NUMBER ONE, CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND DECLARING <br /> AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> An amendment had been furnished the Council to amend the Plan on <br /> Pages 10 and 11 to change 36' pavement to 45' pavement. Mr. Coddington <br /> stated there were several things that were to be worked out with the <br /> City Attorney regarding indennity of the City which had not yet been <br /> done. For this reason, Mr. Coddington moved this Ordinance be tabled <br /> from further readings until these things were worked out and Mr. Brown <br /> seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration Item 7A(4) which was removed <br /> from the consensus agenda, being approval of an Ordinance on second <br /> reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 29, ARTICLE VII OF <br /> THE SAN MARCOS CODE OF ORDINANCES BY ADDING SUBSEC- <br /> TION (d) TO SECTION 29-152 PROVIDING FOR TOW-AWAY <br /> LOADING ZONES; AND, DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> Mayor Craddock moved for approval of the Ordinance on second reading <br /> and Mr. Farr seconded the motion. Mr. Moore expressed objection to <br /> the times in the amendment. Mayor Craddock moved to amend the Ordin- <br /> ance in Section 1. (d) in the last sentence as follows: "The zone <br /> shall be in force Monday through Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m." <br /> Mr. Moore seconded the motion. On roll call the following vote was <br /> recorded: <br /> AYE: Brown, Coddington, Farr, Craddock, Guerra. <br /> NAY: Moore. <br /> ABSTAIN: None. <br />
