<br /> M1ENDf1ENT NO. 1 TO <br /> CONTRACT FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES <br /> The Contract for Engineering Services entered into on the 7th day of <br /> ~1ay, 1979, between the City of San 11arcos, Texas and Freese and Nichols, Inc., <br /> shall be amended as set forth hereinunder. The said Contract is attached as <br /> Exhibit "A". <br /> 1. Paragraph 2, Character and Extent of Engineering Services, as shown <br /> in the original Agreement shall be modified as set forth herein. <br /> a. Step 1 Preliminary Engineering and Planning Services: <br /> Add: the following paragraph 2.a.(6) <br /> (6) Preparation of a Sewer System Evaluation Survey for <br /> 353,000 feet of wastewater collection system under the <br /> guidelines of Public Law, 92-500, Environmental Pro- <br /> tection A encies Handbook for Sewer System Evaluation <br /> and Rehabilitation December, 1975) and Section 35, <br /> 921-1 of the 1974 Amendment to PL 92-500. <br /> (a) Services provided by the Engineer: <br /> Freese and Nichols, Inc. and subcontractors will <br /> furnish all materials, equipment, supplies and <br /> personnel to perform the complete survey except <br /> those listed in (b) below. <br /> (b) Services to be provided by the Owner include: <br /> i. Water for rainfall simulation tests and sewer <br /> line cleaning available at the nearest and most <br /> convenient fire hydrant. <br /> ii. Access to site of work with sufficient area for <br /> the placement of personnel and equipment, including <br /> right-of-ways and ramps. (No field activity will <br /> be undertaken that will unreasonably damage sur- <br /> rounding terrain without prior approval by the Owner.) <br /> i i i. All local or city licenses and permits. <br /> i v. Blockages, if any, in the system will be reported to <br /> the Owner. Such obstructions will be cleared by the <br /> Owner's crews to permit further work, if deemed <br /> necessary by the Engineer. <br /> v. Patching and/or repair of street surfaces where <br /> manholes have been paved over and must be opened. <br />
